Concept for Care for Green Spaces Owned by the Moravian-Silesian Region
Work on this activity will be ongoing throughout the duration of the project
Partners involved in the activity: Moravian-Silesian Region
The Moravian-Silesian Region takes care of large areas of green space - approximately 50 ha of parks and 2,000 km of linear greenery along roads. In the face of climate change, it is crucial to improve the management of these stands to make them more resilient to extreme conditions such as droughts, heatwaves and torrential rains.
Therefore, Phase 2 of the project will see the development of a Concept for Care for Green Spaces Owned by the Moravian-Silesian Region, which will involve:
- assessment of the impacts of climate change on the region's green spaces,
- establishment of rules for maintenance, planting and aftercare,
- selection of two sites for the pilot implementation of adaptation measures,
- creation of a Green Space Care Guide that can also serve other regions.
The outputs from the pilot projects and recommendations for green space management in the region will be available on the MiSe Klima portal and on this website. Sustainable green space management is not just a matter of aesthetics - it is a necessary part of adapting to climate change and ensuring a quality environment for us all.
