Tomáš Karas studied regional development at the Faculty of Economics, VŠB-TUO. He works as a project manager at the Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region. He has been with the LIFE COALA project almost from the outset and has been actively involved in preparing the project. As Senior Project Manager, he is responsible for the overall leadership, organisation, management and achievement of project objectives.

Irena Owczarzyová graduated from the Faculty of Mining and Geology at VŠB-TUO, majoring in waste treatment and disposal at the Department of Environmental Engineering. She has been the main expert guarantor of the LIFE COALA project since 2022. The job of the main expert guarantor is to ensure that the project activities are always in line with the Adaptation Strategy of the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Petr Bárta graduated from the Faculty of Economics, VŠB-TUO, majoring in management. He works as an economist at the Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region. In 2021, he became the Chief Financial Officer of the LIFE COALA project. In this position, he is responsible for the financial aspect of the project and continuously monitors the disbursement of funds by the project partners.

Pavla Sokolovská graduated from the Faculty of Science at the University of Ostrava. She currently works for Moravskoslezské Investice a Development, a. s. (MSID), one of the partners of the LIFE COALA project. Since 2021, she has been working as a coordinator of project activities. During her career, she has worked on a number of international projects focused on landscape conservation, spatial planning and adaptation to the impacts of climate change.

Petr Birklen obtained his bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Science at the University of Ostrava and completed his master’s degree at the Faculty of Science at the Palacký University in Olomouc. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Moravskoslezské Investice a Development, a. s. (MSID), one of the partners of the LIFE COALA project. He has been with the LIFE COALA project from the outset and has contributed significantly to its preparation. He gained work experience, among others, at the Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic or at the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, where he coordinated the first Czech Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. He has authored or co-authored a number of studies, strategies and projects on addressing climate change.
