The activity will be completed Phase 2 of the project

Partners involved in the activity: The Statutory City of Karviná and the Moravian-Silesian Energy Centre

Initially, Karviná was supposed to develop a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) as part of this activity. The city eventually received a grant from the State Environmental Fund for this plan, which it used, and the city council approved the document in early 2023. The Action Plan is available on the City of Karviná website.

After the completion of the SECAP from another grant program, the activity was redirected to the city's energy management. In 2023, an energy audit of 14 municipal buildings was carried out, resulting in an Energy Implementation Plan for 2024 to 2025. This plan includes energy saving and operational measures that will help reduce energy consumption within the scope of the available funding. Large investments, such as the installation of photovoltaics, window replacements or building insulation, are dealt with separately in the city's investment plan.

Karviná has also introduced regular monitoring of energy consumption (energy management) in municipal buildings, which will continue after the end of the project. For the duration of the project, Karviná will embark on a pilot project involving the installation of photovoltaics on the building of the municipal swimming pool, which is one of the city's most energy-intensive buildings. The planning work will be commenced in Phase 2 of the project.
