Support for the Development of Green Infrastructure in Orlová, Karviná and Havířov
Work on the activity started back in Phase 1 and will continue until the end of Phase 3 of the project
Partners involved in the activity: The Statutory Cities of Karviná and Havířov, the City of Orlová and Moravian-Silesian Investment and Development
The aim of this activity is to support the implementation and compliance with the principles of building blue-green infrastructure in the towns and cities of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is this approach that will play a key role in adapting to climate change and helping to reduce the urban heat island effect through nature-based solutions.
This activity is planned to include:
- an update to the Karviná green space concept from 2021, which provides for the care, development and protection of urban greenery until 2040. This will be updated every 5 years, with the current action plan valid until 2026,
- studies of public greenery for selected areas of the City of Havířov,
- an urban greenery spatial study together with a passport for the greenery in the City of Orlová; the study will include a green space care manual and a blue-green infrastructure manual with a focus on the efficient use of water in the urban landscape,
- a guide to green space planning in cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants with regard to climate change conditions.
Sharing good practice is crucial. Inspirational examples will be available on this website and on the MiSe Klima information portal.
